Jan fortæller mig også flere gange at han er ret glad for øl og måske nok er hvad man derhjemme betegner som alkoholiker. Men han siger han selv har det godt med det og at det gør hans liv nemmere, mellem linjerne siger fortæller han også om hans barske fortid med div fængsel besøg, hårde stoffer, om at have boet på gaden, blevet stukket ned af en ex kæreste i syd Thailand, haft flere nær-døds oplevelser og en masse andre gribende historier som hurtigt danner baggrunden for hans "kærlighed" for alkohol og derved flugt fra at mærke de smertende følelser i hans krop og sind.

Jeg kan ikke undgå at få lidt ondt af Jan og det barske liv han har levet, han rummer så meget godt inden i og har så stort et hjerte og kærlighed for alt levende på jorden, samtidigt ved jeg også at netop denne rejse han har været på har ledt ham til hvor han er i dag, han har fundet kærligheden og hans "safe-heaven" i dette lille samfund i Thailand og det kan jeg ikke andet end unde ham, for det er om noget fortjent.

Jeg kan ikke lade være med at håbe han en dag får bearbejdet alle følelserne inden i og får smerterne sluppet fri - så han ikke behøver drikke det hele væk - hans liv er så meget mere end det og forhåbentligt ser han selv hans værdi en dag.
